How to read CSV file contents in php

PHP makes it easy to read CSV files by using fgetcsv function.

Step 1 : Lets create a sample CSV file
Sample File
Step 2 : The file looks like this when opened with notepad
Notepad View
Step 3: Now let us write the coding in php to read the contents word by word

<?php

$file = fopen(“data.csv”,”r”); // open file in read mode
while(!feof($file)) // loop through end of file
{
$word = fgetcsv($file,1024); // get the content as array
print $word[0].$word[1].”
“; // print the array
}
fclose($file); // close the file

?>
